Ivory Coast national team player Zaha signed for the Red Devils in January 2013. Manchester United paid £10.98m to secure his transfer from Crystal Palace but the winger was unable to convince the coaches at Old Trafford that he’s ready for the first team.

Zaha spent some time on loan at Cardiff City and Crystal Palace from Manchester United before he was sold to Palace in a £6m deal in 2015. Manchester United officials added a sell-on clause to the contract that took him from Old Trafford to Selhurst Park. The sell-on clause was repeated when Manchester United sold RomeluLukaku to Italian champions Inter Milan in a £73m deal two years ago.

Belgian international Lukaku has been linked with an £100m transfer to Chelsea and Manchester United are entitled to around £5m as a result of the sell-on clause inserted if the transfer goes through as expected. It was reported that the sell-on clause inserted for Lukaku is around 4-5%.

Manchester United took it up a notch with the sell-on clause inserted for Ivory Coast star Wilfred Zaha. Club officials inserted a 25% sell-on fee meaning that the Red Devils are entitled to 25% of his next transfer.

Zaha has been linked with North London giants Arsenal this summer. The Gunners are long-term admirers of his footballing prowess and he came close to joining them two years ago. Crystal Palace are likely to demand at least £40m for Zaha who has two years left on his contract at Selhurst Park. If Zaha is sold for £40m or more, Manchester United would be entitled to double figures in transfer fee.

New Palace manager Patrick Vieira is hoping to keep Zaha for the new season despite the various interests in him.
